Stillness is the new form of exercise
Stillness equals the absence of movement as per the dictionary definition. And you’re right, it sure does, but that’s not the only thing stillness represents. It also stands for a way of being, which means, if compressed, the lack of excessive thinking within our conscious minds. The stillness is always within us, it’s the natural state of our beings. It’s just all the white noise of the modern world and busy minds that makes us forget it.
The world that we live in is a very chaotic and fast-paced place, it’s been this way for a long, long time.
Slowing down and trying to find this quiet, happy place within ourselves seems more important now than ever, because if not now, when?
It’s said that still waters run deep, and the more I think of it, the more I see how that’s the way to be for now. Still.
The mood board I put together is what came to me when I was thinking of stillness, not necessarily it will translate in the same way for you. However, I hope it makes you slow down for a moment and self-reflect on what stillness means to you.
